Preparing for Success - Tomorrow DAY 1

In Preparation for Tomorrow's beginning another "21 day to health and wellness"

I've been thinking tonight....

Although day ONE should be a "fast" I know that this would be difficult. No explanation... just a set up for failure (me). Yet, it would be a good idea. But, it should be the day before the 21 day.

Next, I need to make more of a committed time to my 15/15/15. Too many times the day has slipped by and I didn't accomplish my goal.

Then, I need to make sure that the time I commit to is reasonable given my schedule (crazy travel schedule).

Here it is:
Wake up and have my coffee, bowl of Cream of Wheat (<200>
this dovetails into my scripture for the day... which leads into prayer. WOW so efficient and reasonable of a plan IT"S ONLY TAKEN ME 8 Months to get this! But, enough! I got it going now! YEA :)

No matter if it's a travel day, work day, day at home... what ever I CAN DO THIS every single day! And I will do it for the next 21 days!

Then that takes care of the first "15"

The next "15 " is my exercise.... Although since I'm attempting to decrease my BMI (nice, positive way to say lose weight") I will headed for 30 minutes.

I have found that after journalize and getting my scripture for the day I am energized and motivated so, of course it's "stretching time". Now, I know myself. If I say "exercise" I still have a little "tude" doing. So, I say "stretch" and magically.... it turns into exercise. This is true. I get my body moving and it tells my mind "this is good" and next thing I know ... I'm doing it!


Now, I've accomplished my two 15/15's by the time I start my day. YEA!

the last of the three 15's is mostly before bed, because it's reading, studying. Perfect before bed. Keep my book by my bed (which ever I am reading).
This doesn't mean that I'm not reading, practicing piano or Italian during the day, BUT I'm committed for 21 days to read for 15 minutes each night before bed. Something I can learn AND ALWAYS reading the scripture again before I close my eye's and Thank God.
Counting my blessings (instead of sheep, although I've never counted Sheep, oh my what a thought, sheep.... yikes). No matter how the day went.... No matter how I did for the day with making healthy food choices..... I WILL Thank God for the day and the opportunity to do better tomorrow.

Now, although You (whoever you are) thinks ... "hey, what about food (diet)..." go back and read my multi entries in my previous 21 day adventures.

In a "nut shell" - Choose foods with color and nutrition. Journalize everything you eat during the 21 day's. Weigh every morning after you pee (yes I said pee). When tempted to eat a NON nutritional food - STOP "close your eyes" and then say "Only Christ can satisfy my needs".
or "I don't need it, it's not good for me... therefore I don't want it!". OR use the scripture for the day to have God's strength!

I'm still working on doing these things in social settings, (good to recognize weakness so it can be worked on)
But, I have mastered looking at pastries, candies, deserts... etc and saying "they are poison to my body" AND it's TRUE!

There you have it... formula for success!

A call to prayer and to make a stand. We face a turbulent time in our nation.

Let's face it with a prayer attitude and outspoken words of Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Never give up

Let's try this again.

Starting July 1st I will attempt (no cross out that word : attempt) I WILL
make choices that become a constant lifestyle choice (habit!)

I believe the truth is I need to choose 3 habits for the next 21 days - Just THREE

After reviewing the last few times of "21 days to health and wellness" I found a weakness

"consistency" well, that's always been my weakness. Doing something the same way more than once (ha)

So, knowing my weakness is the .....

First Step to success-
The next step is making a commitment to "my choice"

Step two - be realistic in my goal: Choice ONLY three things

Step three - Use the right tools to accomplish my choices / create the environment for success

Step four - Motivation / Passion / Loving ME enough to "do it": the tool is my spiritual walk
my spiritual talk becoming the walk

Step five - Accountability towards these steps.

Hear goes:
Step One: I AM COMMITTED to Being "Healthy and Well". I am committed to being my best
Spiritually, Physically, Mentally. I am committed to Taking CARE OF ME!
Step Two: 1. Write down what I eat when I eat it! (accountability) . 200 calories each meal (three healthy meals) and each snack (2 snacks)
2. 30 Minutes every MORNING! No EXCUSES!!!
3. 15/15/15 This is my daily choice to Pray & Read the Word of God
This is my daily choice to Learn (read, Italian lessons or Piano)
This is my daily choice for activity (although for 21 days it's 30 minutes since My goal is weight loss )
Step Three: Tools: Wii, I-Phone music, Note's about the house/car.... Alarms to remind me. Keep a Daily Sheet of paper to record food (until I can transfer to Livestrong Web site I have chosen). That makes me think I'm going to wear a
waterproof bracelet to Remind me... focus, "taking care of me"
Step Four: Journalize is what I found keeps me focused and motivated -
Step Five: Journalize is what keeps me accountable. And the MIRROR doesn't hurt!

I have MY choices - THREE THINGS for 21 days! Three things to the road of Health and Wellness.

Getting Closer

It occurred to me recently when discussing "diets". It appears when someone is "on a diet" they speak passionately about their choice. No "open mind" ... closed to any suggestion that there may be flaws, or another diet may be a better choice.


Then the light clicked on ! Of course, you have to BUY into what your doing to be successful. You have to lock out any other ideas .... and run with it!
So, the target population to address are the one's that are OPEN ( mostly because they've failed at what they have tried)

In my endeavor to discover the "truth" about losing weight, I have become equally passionate about my choice.... Ummmm but in seeking a diet, I found something Bigger and Better and ...


So far:
We are creature that are ruled by habits
Habits are developed by a choices
Choices are made by our thoughts
thoughts are taking what we see, hear, feel and either accepting them or "deleting" them.

We are a product of OURSELVES! Think about that....

Toxic

Just a thought ~

We are living in a toxic environment. Right? It's all we hear and read these days.

I'm reading about how the food we eat is toxic to our bodies (pesticides, chemicals, preservatives) and this is contributing to weight problems. GO organic!

I'm reading about how our thought life can be toxic. (un-forgiveness, resentment, anger). Go Word of God!

So, the bible is very clear about what we put into our bodies, be it food or thoughts.

Philippians 4:7-9

7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Empowerment

John 14 (various verses)

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

This chapter speaks to me today of

Peace, Love and Hope. Empowerment for a successful life.

These are the words of a living God that if "taken to heart" will guide our life, keeping us daily on the road of Success.

Success in relationship

Success in our personal life (relationship with ourselves)

Hey, what else is there but this - RELATIONSHIPS! It's why God Created us. To have a relationship with Him. We are all about Relationships!

I'm reminded that it's not about what others are to you but what you are to others! The rewards of this quest is in eternity. The satisfaction of this quest is knowing we are the embodiment of Christ to others. He was respected as the king of kings by some, and by others scorned. There is peace in doing what is right.

Whether at home, work or our community it's all about our relationship with Christ that determines our relationship with others. Now that's a successful life! When I leave this earth, it is my prayer and hope that I leave behind a legacy of a life of peace, love and hope. Chapter in John 14 - Words of Empowerment

Your Audience

When (as today) you are "feeling" illness creeping on... like a headache or flu like symptoms, DO NOT GIVE audience to those feelings!

Yes, you feel what you feel. But, Tell your Body what your heart and mind know!
You are a child of God and your Body is his Temple.

Speak the Words (words are SO very powerful)

I'm "FIGHTING" blank blank blank (whatever your feeling)

Confess this over and over.

NEVER NEVER say - "I have a cold" or "I have a Headache" That is you giving audience to the feelings. That is you giving permission for your body to accept an illness. That is taking ownership of the feelings and letting an illness take hold of YOU and GROW!

This is so very very true!

This doesn't mean when your "fighting" something you shouldn't attack it with
Good Nutrition, Fluids, Rest, Vitamins.... then move to over the counter medications like some Ibuprofen or Cough medication.

Fight, Fight, Fight.... "go to the Mat" ("You've got mail" line... quoted from the "Godfather")
Have you heard someone say... "I'm getting a Headache" or "I always feel this way just before I get a sinus infection" or " When I get this... I always get that"

Plans

Judges 7

2The LORD said to Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, for Israel would become boastful, saying, 'My own power has delivered me.'


This is amazing Story of how God orchestrated HOW HE was going to get the glory.
It's always easy for us to see God's hand when we know the whole story.

Imagine for a moment what Thoughts were going through Gideon's mind when he knew the task at hand. He needed an Army to defeat the Midianites - God dwindled his army to 300 men. Yet, in obedience to God the Battle was won. Great Story to read.

Did Gedeon understand God's Plan? Meaning, did he just trust and obey God no matter how it seemed to him?

This story came to me tonight... I believe once again, God is imparting into my heart TO STOP looking at circumstances aka "road blocks" and just have faith and DO what I KNOW is right.

LISTEN to Him and His word. HE HAS A PLAN! Do what he's put before me (opportunity, vision). Even if it seems crazy and un do able.

I know my personality is to want to know the ending first. Ha!

I really do know the ending. It's all about standing in HIS presence some day and
wanting God to say. "Well done, my good and Faithful servant".

Cycle of life

The cycle:

It takes energy to exercise
It take energy to eat right (make healthy choices)

It takes eating right to obtain energy
It takes exercise to increase energy

No beginning, No end.....

OK

This thinking is the epiphany of what happened today. After traveling I arrived and wanted to "snack"... not hungry, just craved a salty snack.

So, I went and took a nap. Kind of like in the movie "Avanti"... where the heavy women states her Doctor told her that she can't eat when sleeping, so SLEEP more!
Yikes!

Yet, after the nap I had no desire to snack.
AHHH! I get it. Fatigue leads to lack of will that translates into .... trying to fill the void, satisfy.... whatever it is that makes us give into eating.

Maybe that's one of the reasons that in the evening I have the most difficulty with snacking.

Stayin alive!

Title has nothing to do with today's blog. It's just that I'm cleaning and pumped up!

Of course because I need to multitask:
I'm cleaning
Listening to Music on iPhone
Thinking about "stuff"

Some of it is Ruminating about a circumstance with some People that I can't change.
Heartbreaking and disappointing to say the least.

Yet, I've dealt with this before (different people). I did get over it and moved on, but it was a "BIG challenge".

This I Know: In myself I DO NOT HAVE the resource to "get over it and move on"
BUT, in the Lord with his word I HAVE the resource.
Give it to Got - "I see the people at the foot of the cross on their knees". And I too pray for them. I do forgive them and let "God deal with them in his way and time".

Next, I acknowledge that the "DEVIL" wants to rob me of my joy. Easily done when my mind thinks about this circumstance. BUT "I" my choice need to DIRECT my thoughts. THAT I CAN DO. My freewill!

now, ADD moment -

Social Gathering always over FOOD! YIKES!
Then I removed myself from self righteous judgement and said "HEY, what about the Last Supper?". Right, and the first Wedding? Changing water into wine.

Ok.... then

"this do in remembrance of me"

Keep priorities and desire in the right place.

Ok,

The Battles of LIFE

No doubt it is a struggle.

Poor night sleep
Fighting a illness
Personal challenges (fiance, relationship)

..... Feeling down, depressed, sad, disappointed, betrayed, scared, angry

So, saying "let it go, move on, don't let your emotions rule you"

Come on and get real. Saying those quotes mean nothing when your in the trenches of these emotions.

Put it into action
MAKE YOUR SELF SMILE! Your body senses the muscles around your mouth and sends out chemical markers stating "hey, she's happy... release more endorphins".

Quote Scripture Verses ! There is power in stating God's word... not the cliques of Man

Put a check on your nutrition - "are you lacking your Vitamin B's...?" these are Vitamins your body needs to battle Stress (can't escape stress in this world).

Fight Fatigue (sometimes from illness or depression) with stretches. This activity takes little energy and will put you on the right track! It will pull in oxygen to your muscles (heart is a muscle) and sends messages to your brain.

Drink your water with Lemon - Cup of Hot Tea with Lemon.... your 70% fluids so FILL UP!

Then.... SING SING SING - Sing out loud- Sing out Strong

Then... COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS not your troubles -
Name 7 things YOU ARE GRATEFUL for!

The battle is ON but.... YOU CAN WIN!

Don't give up and Don't give in!
