If it's to be it's up to me

There can be valid reasons why you lack motivation.

One to consider is being unbalanced physically.

Vitamin and mineral deficiency is real.

This is why I continually speak out in my blogs " balance" your life.

If you are deficient in a vitamin or mineral it can produce symptoms that rob you of your health and wellbeing

You'll can feel:

Down, depressed, tired, cranky.... " I dont care" attitude

"Ah, Fuhgeddaboutit" attitude"

First choice is for you to get proper vitamins and minerals from life giving foods!!!

then you should supplement with man made vitamins and minerals

.... to thine own self be true - or THE SCALE DON'T LIE

ahhhh, to look in the rear view mirror!   

looking at ME and my previous blog 

..... one year ago today..... (made a few changes/revisions)

It's oh so healthy to keep a journal or blog.... Did I say that it's healthy.... I think I did!

To thine own self be true

Oh, come on now...... I always say       "oh, I don't eat that much!"

But, yikes! I added up the few measly things I ate today and a whopping 1900 calories.

Ridiculous!  Have you ever REALLY REALLY ever taken the time to see how many Calories and Carbs are in something you have had for a snack, lunch or for "mindless eating"

It's amazing that as smart as humans are.... it's the SAME freakin story that I hear  from my patients ....(and I too have said, quit honestly)

           "I know I'm over weight, but I've tried to lose weight and just can't!"

Then my reply is:           "what did you eat yesterday?"  
                       "what did you do to use up those calories that you consumed?"   

the guilty light pops on and then the "excuses" begin!

You can try to fool other's 


you can try to fool yourself... 



Ya shouldn't lie to yourself

Tomorrow will be a day of more thoughtful choices. 

I will keep in mind that food is a "fuel" for my bodies health.

My well being is my spiritual walk! 

Only HE can truly satisfy! 

ok, that was a year ago that I said the same stuff I say today

only thing that has changed is the date  - truth doesn't change

Stop looking to food to "satisfy" your emptiness or frustrations,  (yes, you know I'm saying the truth... we find it soothing and satisfying to FEED OUR FACE)
When you're seeking FOOD it's a symptom of a deficit in your mind or spirit... maybe just maybe it's a nutritional deficiency... but that's rare.

Get smart and keep a record for one solid week of EVERYTHING you eat and drink... You'll be SHOCKED!

Don't be discouraged!   If it were so simple and easy to lose weight... we'd all be "twiggy"

Trust me when I say - YOU CAN DO IT

I've been blogging about this very thing this past year.  I've been there and done that too!  
When I recognized that "I'm was at war within myself" about food and exercise  I began this journey. 
It WORKS... It's not a pill or a funky new diet

It's about BALANCE!  
By a  self discovery of the Physical, Mental and Spiritual components of YOU 

It's a Journey.... Get on board!  It's been a fabulous RIDE SO FAR! 



Get Ready for Summer Diet

It only takes ONE match stick to burn down a building that took a 100 men to build

All the efforts and gains you make towards change 

can be dashed into a pile of dust 
with ONE wrong decision.  


Don't you know it may take you  7 DAYS to lose  5 pounds but ONE "stupid" DAY of gluttony and not "caring" to put on 5 pounds!  (was the Easter candy really worth it?)

So why?  
      WHY ...  W H Y...  oh....   W H Y  
                   do we do that to ourselves? (pig out)
                                (see answer below... hint:  it has to do with balance)

That, my friend is my Journey and my Quest.... for "self discovery" of why and how I can throw "common sense" to the wind!

Here's a story...

As I passed by a co-worker the other day, I asked "oh, you look tired".  The flood gates opened and she poured out for the next minute (seemed like several minutes)  ....the excuses "I'm not sleeping.... It's this cold gloomy weather... I have no energy.... my body is achy...  I think I'm getting sick" ........etc

                            I then said  
              "so, what really happening in your life ?"

ahh,   she then looked me in the eye's and  softly spoke
     "I went to my 26 year old Nephew's funeral 2 weeks ago, and
        last night I found out my Aunt has stage 4 Cancer"

People, People People..... I have said it and will continue to preach it


it's all about balance

When you feel a physical aliment... S T O P   and take a deep breath and ask your self this question:

What is happening around me that is affecting me:  


if you don't properly take the stress your  facing and constructively deal with it 

using  your MIND, your BODY and your SPIRIT 

you'll be  a walking mess

ALL THREE need to be engaged when faced with STRESS- LIFE
                                                      Hey Did you hear me say balance?


2. SPIRITUAL:  PRAYER  (talking and listening to your Creator) and
                         READING your INSTRUCTION MANUAL (Bible)

3. MIND:          Stopping Negative WORDS (can't, never, always) and THOUGHTS
                         SPEAKING words of encouragement - POSITIVE thinking

So, you want to get ready for the summer!   Be in shape to wear a bathing suit and Swim  and Ride a Bike, Play a game of Bocce ball?

It only takes ONE moment to make a Decision to CHANGE your  Lifestyle (life)


It takes BALANCING your Moments to make your CHANGE into Healthy Habits

3 years ago I wrote my very first Blog.  

 I'm blessed  for having the privilege of experiencing the  life transforming POWER  of a  Relationship with Christ.   

This 3 year journey  of seeking Health and Wellness through my blogging  had sprung forth a new excitement and a new approach to life.  I'm am so grateful!  (and 20 pounds lighter!)


My First Post on this site 4/2009

I was hoping for a safe place where at any time I can Speak and be heard.... Listen and Learn.... receive and yet give all at the same time.

I was hoping to join with other women and pray for needs.

......"For such a time as this" when Esther was in the perfect place and perfect time to help save her people.

I want to pray with others for Our Nation -as the scripture says "...if my people will Humble themselves and Pray" we need a Revival!

Do you remember the 70's when the youth was looking for "Truth". The Jesus Movement....

I was hoping for a place where ... as we did in Church.... we held up our hand and during prayer time and when asked what our prayer request was we just said..... "unspoken request".

We all knew that The Lord knows the "request", we just need to PRAY. Perfect... I was hoping that could be done here.

"Come to the Well"... because as the "song" states .... "The Woman at the Well was thirsting for THINGS that could not satisfy"... I want to remember that ONLY CHRIST can satisfy my soul. He can give me Peace that flows through me and around me, in the mist of confusion.


PS   Here is a health "tip for today"  
        When you stand and walk today  have "good posture" :  
Chin up, shoulders back, unclench your hands!
and  then feel  like you have a string on the top of your head 
that is pulling you up towards the sky, 
(which will extend your spine and free up your digestive system)
then   smack a big fat  smile on your face  (show those teeth)
and say to your self 
 "I AM a child of a LIVING GOD, 
NOTHING is impossible when I put my TRUST IN HIM"

Then....YOUR BODY WILL SEND A MESSAGE to your BRAIN  "HEY, I'm feeling confident and happy".  Then your mind will have to think "Wow,  I better release some happy  chemicals to match what the body is doing" 

 This is healthy and wiser than mopping around feeling stressed out and sorry for  any circumstances  that you maybe facing.  It will reduce headaches, backaches and fatigue
Your Body will thank you
And those around you that have to interact with you will thank you


oh, and stay off the phone and be with those around you!  LOL
People who live on their Cell phones
and have Poor cell phone etiquette

"CHANGE" your need into a want

You may not even recognize that it's time
 for you to  make some changes....
"think about it"
 Lifestyle changes 

There is an incredible P O W E R unleashed 
when you make a decision to change

How amazing the human mind is, 
yet it's nothing without the power of the Human Spirit

We can place our Minds on idle or we can tap into the power of change and soar to the stars.

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
And to run where
the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
And to love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless

The Impossible Dream is a "POSSIBILITY"
when we change our Needs into a WANTs
We become a POWERFUL life force

For us to change our Need into a want we need to:
  •  SPEAK it outloud... over and over and over again
  •  Take our Vitamins and Eat HEALTHY life giving foods
  •  EXERCISE - to detox and free up our body to receive  Life giving Oxygen
  • To FEED our Soul and Spirit the Life giving Word of a "living God"

TO believe in the Mind and Body that was
 given to You by a Creator 

who made you in HIS IMAGE!  

The same Creator of the UNIVERSE who made the delicate rose
and CHOOSE to have a delightfully fragrant flower with thorns on it's stem

HE has A PLAN for you
Get HEALTHY so you can achieve what was to BE

Find the Child in you that is FREE TO BELIEVE!

Are you a Popeye or a Wimpy in your choices

Eat now Pay later attitude

Yes,  You make a choice to eat what "taste" good and then freak out when your told your Cholesterol is over 200 and you are a Borderline Diabetic
(actually, no such thing as a "borderline" diabetic... you are actually seen by your Doctor as a   Type 2 Diabetic , just  not on medication...
you will be on medication unless you change your lifestyle choices  )

Wimpy   is Popeye's friend. In the cartoons he mainly plays the role of the "straight man" to Popeye's outbursts and wild antics. Wimpy is soft-spoken, very intelligent, and well educated, but also cowardly, very lazy, overly parsimonious and utterly gluttonous. He is also something of a scam artist and, especially in the newspaper strip, can be notoriously underhanded at times.

How is it you can be

Health is a gift until YOU you abuse your health with
lifestyle choices that are gluttonous.

God will take way the gift of health 

if you show no appreciation for it and misuse it.


If you're in the minority of people who's lifestyle choices didn't contribute to your health issues.... There is a BIG GOD that has a message for you
He's got a plan... rest in him and feel the miracle of his strengths and Joy in the mist of your pain while seeking healing.
