"Happy New Year" 2010

May the New Year Bring Health and Wellness to your Body, Soul and Spirit.
Salute! ( It's 12:28 In Colorado and the Moon is so Full and Bright that there are shadows of the EverGreen Trees on the Snow - Beautiful!) Sweet Dreams everyone. Today we Start our 21 days!

Choices


Scripture verse for today:
"For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be
their God, and they will be my people.'" (2 Corinthians 6:16)

Prayer today: Lord, today is a gift from you. I give you this day with my life, my actions, my words. Give me directions and patience and the faith I need to serve you today. Help me see my body today as Your Temple. Live in me! Be Glorified in me. May my life today reflect your promises. Strengthen me as I speak your word. I am the temple of the living God. Amen.

Today I will CHOOSE to serve the Lord. My Choices will reflect my respect for the "body" that the Lord has given to me. I will find strength in Him by confessing his Word. His Word will give me the courage to make right choices in what I do, say, eat.

When I think about food today, I will quote this scripture :

"(I am) the temple of the living God"

2 Corinthians 6:16.

In this will I find the Strength. As I reach for something to eat I will quote this scripture. I will shine HIS light on my choice. What will I put in HIS temple today. I choose to Glorify God with my life (therefore my body).

Preparation for the 21 days

Confession! Say what you know is true.

There is such power in our words. Just as there is power in the Word of God. Today look for the words you choose when talking about food. Look for the words you choose when talking about your health, "how you feel". Choose positive words. For instance. If you have a headache. Say out loud. I'm fighting a headache. NOT "I have a headache". DO not take ownership of things you do not want. If you have aches and pains (joint pain, back pain)... then when you move and hurt... say "God is healing me" "I feel good".

When you think about "wanting" something to eat today. STOP, Think and Confess truth.

First: Eating

There is a lot of exploring "YOU" why you eat, when you eat, what you choose to eat. But, for now just think about the question when you're ready to eat: Ask yourself today: AM I Really Hungry? Am I just eating "Because I FEEL like something to eat? "

If you can today: Draw strength from HIS WORD when you think about eating. CONFESS "I am His temple" ..... I like to say when I'm tempting to eat something and it's not the right choice or time to eat .... "Greater is He that is in me than He that is in this food"!


Second: 15/15/15

This is about taking care of your body! Mentally, Physically, Spiritually. Yes, 15 minutes a day to feed each of these.

PHYSICALLY: Choose today 15 minutes to FEED YOUR BODY. Maybe Take a brisk walk, or if you can "exercise" (Stretches, weights, yoga!) whatever. MOVE your body for 15 minutes today. Get your heart rate up! It's a muscle! Exercise the body that God has given you. The benefit will be increased strength, endurance... your mind will be "clear" as you increase blood flow to every cell in your body.

MENTALLY: Choose today 15 minutes to Feed your Mind!. Choose a subject that you're interested in learning more about. For me, I am continually trying to learning Italian & Practice my Piano as two area's I try to work on each day. Some days I pick up one of my medical books/journals. Side note to me: This reminds me to be more consistent!


SPIRITUALLY:Choose 15 minutes to Read God's word, pray - Feed your Spirit! He wants you to know who He is. He wants to give you his WORD! His Word is Life to your Body, Soul and Spirit.

You're health is a blend, balance of your Mind, body and Spirit. They are CONNECTED! Acknowledge this an empower yourself with this knowledge.

I will say however, to consolidate my 15/15/15, I will use a headset and listen to my Italian CD while I take a brisk walk! That's the best. Although, I know I do best with "Music" blasting in my head to motivate me when Exercising! That's another great thing: Listen to "Gospel music" while walking/exercising! Focusing my thoughts on the goodness and mercies of God. Praying during my Walks. OK, You've got it! Consolidate my 15/15/15 if possible. TIME management!

Salute to my Family and Friends

Hello out there!

I am embarking on an journey to "Health and Wellness" and would like to know who will join me?

I'm excited about what I have learned recently and want to share this with my Family and Friends.

It will soon be 01-01-10! The commercials are out there NOW about diets, weight loss products, Exercise programs/DVD's... etc.

I want to share with my Family and Friends what I have discovered the past few months! I want to take you with me on this Journey.

It started with my "once again trying to lose weight" . It then developed into an "Awakening".

I Believe that being overweight is ONLY THE SYMPTOM! I believe it is a symptom of "unhealthy lifestyle choices". Yes, there may be some physical imbalances involved (ie. menopause, thyroid disorders), but these and other health problems are only road blocks . I believe I have found a way to build bridges over those road blocks. I'm very excited and want to share what I've learned.

FIRST, I have learned I must seek Optimal "Health and Wellness". I no longer seek to "lose weight". Yet, Weight Loss is a TRUE benefit of seeking "Health and Wellness".

Starting 01-01-10 I will begin a 21 day quest for Health and Wellness. Why 21 days? Because that is what it takes to develop a "habit". (discussed later).

This 21 days to the beginning of Optimal "Health and Wellness" requires the following:
YOU! Yes, You taking charge of You.
Do you want to wake up in the morning with Energy? I DO!
Do you want to put on your clothes and feel and look great in them? I DO!!!
Do you wanting your skin to glow and your eyes sparkle? I DO!
Do you want to think clearly (not all muddled and forgetful). I DO!
Do you wanting to BE and Look YOUR BEST! I DO!
( yikes....I kind of feel like the guy in the old days standing on the street corner who sold Indian and snake oil Tonic - ha ha )

There is NO need for Costly- expensive foods, drinks, vitamin and or supplements
There is NO need for special exercise equipment or Gym membership. Ok, Tennis Shoes are helpful!

I just ask you to at least read this blog every day until the completion of the 21 days (1/22/10).
If even to support ME.

Each morning you'll see my new posting for the day. (I may blog the night before or in the Wee hours of the morning.... yap! menopause! ouch, I working on that too!)

If you want to join me then.... The stuff you'll do every day for the next 21 days is WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY!

If your wanting to join me for the 21 days , then you'll need to commit to my 15/15/15 plan. That may take you 45 minutes a day .
My 15/15/15 is done in about 30 minutes. I tell you more about this before we start.

If you choose to join me, please join this blog (I think that's how it's done) then give me feedback each day! Ok, even if you don't do the 21 days, please read this blog everyday and give me feedback (+ or -). I need your help and support too!

Also, This is something new for me to "blog".
So bear with me. Grammar/Spelling! ouch.(That's not the feed back I'm looking for)
Plus, as usual, I'm shooting from my Hip. I've never done this before (blog!) but believe in what I'm doing and blogging seem to be the right Vehicle.

My Family and Friends who know me..... know that I am a Registered Nurse who's career choice provides me the means to provide medical advise and promote Health and Wellness for my Patients, Family and Friends.

I also believe in the importance in having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I will be happy to answer any question you may encounter during this 21 day Journey to "Health and Wellness". If I don't have the answer, I will find the answer.

I have been studying and compiling information about "Health and Wellness" as it relates to weight loss and Women's health from many various sources for the past few years. I think you'll be pleasantly surprise at how this will all come together.

If you having any medical conditions- I don't believe the journey we are on will inhibit your participation. This journey is for EVERYONE. You may email me if you still have any medical concerns and or questions.

My First Post on this site 4/2009

I was hoping for a safe place where at any time I can Speak and be heard.... Listen and Learn.... receive and yet give all at the same time.


I was hoping to join with other women and pray for needs.


......"For such a time as this" when Esther was in the perfect place and perfect time to help save her people.


I want to pray with others for Our Nation -as the scripture says "...if my people will Humble themselves and Pray" we need a Revival!

Do you remember the 70's when the youth was looking for "Truth". The Jesus Movement....


I was hoping for a place where ... as we did in Church.... we held up our hand and during prayer time and when asked what our prayer request was we just said..... "unspoken request".

We all knew that The Lord knows the "request", we just need to PRAY. Perfect... I was hoping that could be done here.


"Come to the Well"... because as the "song" states .... "The Woman at the Well was thirsting for THINGS that could not satisfy"... I want to remember that ONLY CHRIST can satisfy my soul. He can give me Peace that flows through me and around me, in the mist of confusion.
