Non Stop flights are not Healthy - Faster but Not Healthy

Why do we sometimes fail at our attempts to eat "right" and "exercise" and "get it together"?
As I read the following article, I thought about the 3 primary reasons...
and I know that I am NOT CONSISTENT at exercise!
( my Current Struggle)

Lack of focus and direction are on the top of my list when I look at Why I fail every day.
I have Hunger pangs that remind me to eat
I have Guilt pangs that remind me to exercise
I live in Guilt (Italian Mother)... so what's new?
BUT I WANT to EXERCISE! I really do....
I KNOW the benefit of Exercise. Not just the outward appearance of a body that exercises,
but I know the Mental Benefit of Exercise
"I ALWAYS feel fabulous after I've exercised"...
and I know the Internal Benefit of Exercise..
Stronger muscles, Joints are more flexible....
Increases my energy and
mental strength (gheeze I need that)
So....
WRITE it down... REPEAT.... Say it.... Believe it.... Feel it.... Do it!
I WILL exercise for 30 minutes today because IT FEELS GOOD. (Yes, keep saying it !!!!)
Then, next step is working on Time Management. If I carve out a time each day for 30 minutes, then I'll have a PLAN!
My Plan gives me direction (the "plan" is a "Plane" in this little story)
Like purchasing a Plane ticket for a destination. But, this destination has no Non Stop Flights.
You must take the connecting Flights to get to your destination.... (come on follow the thought... Yes, It's a little weird)

So every day when I wake up, I fall to my knees
(a recent 21 day habit I have been working on )
and I purchase a Ticket from the LORD.
I will have connecting flights on the way to my Destination (lay over of 30-45 minutes) several times before I arrive at my destination.
Oh, you ask what is the Destination?

Land of Health and Wellness !
Here is what my ticket looks like:

  • Wake up and Fall to Knees at the side of the bed and Purchase a Ticket from God !
Here are the Connecting Flights you must take to arrive at your Destination:
  • Arrive at Exercise Terminal (30-45 minutes to fuel Body with Heart Pumping Oxygen)
  • Arrive Breakfast Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200--300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal ( 10 minute and a quick 200 calorie re-fuel)
  • Arrive at Lunch Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200-300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal ( 10 minute and a quick 200 calorie re-fuel)
  • Arrive at Dinner Terminal (30 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200-300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Exercise Terminal ( 15-30 Stretch, Refresh Mind - Reading? Meditation)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel! 200 calories High Fiber Snack)
  • Arrive at Destination A Place of Health and Wellness

While On the Trip be sure to ask for LOTS OF WATER to stay Hydrated!!!
(this really is my "plan" to stay on a 1200-1500 calorie Diet - I have a few more pounds to go to be at the optimal BMI)

Kind of a funny way to say: Time Management of Eating and Exercising.

But, an interesting a quirky, weird way to think about PLANNING my day.

(think I'll need some Dramamine)

I've got to Stop trying to make my trip a Non-Stop

THAT's just not Healthy !

Reasons We Lose Motivation

There are 3 primary reasons we lose motivation.
  1. Lack of confidence – If you don’t believe you can succeed, what’s the point in trying?
  2. Lack of focus – If you don’t know what you want, do you really want anything?
  3. Lack of direction – If you don’t know what to do, how can you be motivated to do it?

How to Boost Confidence

The first motivation killer is a lack of confidence. When this happens to me, it’s usually because I’m focusing entirely on what I want and neglecting what I already have. When you only think about what you want, your mind creates explanations for why you aren’t getting it. This creates negative thoughts. Past failures, bad breaks, and personal weaknesses dominate your mind. You become jealous of your competitors and start making excuses for why you can’t succeed. In this state, you tend to make a bad impression, assume the worst about others, and lose self confidence.
The way to get out of this thought pattern is to focus on gratitude. Set aside time to focus on everything positive in your life. Make a mental list of your strengths, past successes, and current advantages. We tend to take our strengths for granted and dwell on our failures. By making an effort to feel grateful, you’ll realize how competent and successful you already are. This will rejuvenate your confidence and get you motivated to build on your current success.
It might sound strange that repeating things you already know can improve your mindset, but it’s amazingly effective. The mind distorts reality to confirm what it wants to believe. The more negatively you think, the more examples your mind will discover to confirm that belief. When you truly believe that you deserve success, your mind will generate ways to achieve it. The best way to bring success to yourself is to genuinely desire to create value for the rest of the world.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
