FREAK!

Ok, Day One.

Why do I say FREAK! ? Because, I woke up with being informed that my morning would be altered with a multitude of task that I didn't anticipate!

So, Day ONE didn't start with the beginning of developing HABIT!

YET, with an attempted sense of Humor and "positive" thinking IT"S FREAKIN 2 HOURS later and I'm just starting !

Ok, reality check. What a great challenge! Flexibility! Sense of Humor!

During this chaotic morning I was reflecting on "church camp" as a child. Loved, Loved, Loved summer Church camp every year from 8 years old to 15 years old. Great Experience.

When only 8 years old during my first Church camp I had a Spiritual experience. Now mind you I was Raised in Church! So the message wasn't new to me. But, I experienced the Touch of the Holy Spirit. I was filled and even experienced speaking in Tongues and "slain" as they call it. It was truly a mountain top experience. I would leave Church camp every summer ready to go and tell ALL my friends about Jesus. But, as you may know As soon as the Bus hit Sea Altitude .... my Faith and experience was challenged. It was as if the Devil himself would try to squelch my enthusiasm to be a Christian and Walk the Talk.

Again, I see even now as an adult when I attempt to change for the Better, Start a Diet, Start making positive changes... The Devil jumps right into the middle and attempts to Take away my excitment by placing CHALLENGES in my way.

But, I've become more resilent to these challenges. I see them as nothing more than a step up that I need to take when walking a easy road. So, This morning I step up ! I WILL shake off this morning as a learned experience, a challenge to my determination.

Today's scripture verse is:

Isaiah 40:31 (King James Version)

31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I will think on this verse today.... WAIT on the LORD! Think it, ponder it, talk it, walk it , LIVE IT~

Salute! Gotta get going!

Preparing for Success - Tomorrow DAY 1

In Preparation for Tomorrow's beginning another "21 day to health and wellness"

I've been thinking tonight....

Although day ONE should be a "fast" I know that this would be difficult. No explanation... just a set up for failure (me). Yet, it would be a good idea. But, it should be the day before the 21 day.

Next, I need to make more of a committed time to my 15/15/15. Too many times the day has slipped by and I didn't accomplish my goal.

Then, I need to make sure that the time I commit to is reasonable given my schedule (crazy travel schedule).

Here it is:
Wake up and have my coffee, bowl of Cream of Wheat (<200>
this dovetails into my scripture for the day... which leads into prayer. WOW so efficient and reasonable of a plan IT"S ONLY TAKEN ME 8 Months to get this! But, enough! I got it going now! YEA :)

No matter if it's a travel day, work day, day at home... what ever I CAN DO THIS every single day! And I will do it for the next 21 days!

Then that takes care of the first "15"

The next "15 " is my exercise.... Although since I'm attempting to decrease my BMI (nice, positive way to say lose weight") I will headed for 30 minutes.

I have found that after journalize and getting my scripture for the day I am energized and motivated so, of course it's "stretching time". Now, I know myself. If I say "exercise" I still have a little "tude" doing. So, I say "stretch" and magically.... it turns into exercise. This is true. I get my body moving and it tells my mind "this is good" and next thing I know ... I'm doing it!

Now, I've accomplished my two 15/15's by the time I start my day. YEA!

the last of the three 15's is mostly before bed, because it's reading, studying. Perfect before bed. Keep my book by my bed (which ever I am reading).
This doesn't mean that I'm not reading, practicing piano or Italian during the day, BUT I'm committed for 21 days to read for 15 minutes each night before bed. Something I can learn AND ALWAYS reading the scripture again before I close my eye's and Thank God.
Counting my blessings (instead of sheep, although I've never counted Sheep, oh my what a thought, sheep.... yikes). No matter how the day went.... No matter how I did for the day with making healthy food choices..... I WILL Thank God for the day and the opportunity to do better tomorrow.

Now, although You (whoever you are) thinks ... "hey, what about food (diet)..." go back and read my multi entries in my previous 21 day adventures.

In a "nut shell" - Choose foods with color and nutrition. Journalize everything you eat during the 21 day's. Weigh every morning after you pee (yes I said pee). When tempted to eat a NON nutritional food - STOP "close your eyes" and then say "Only Christ can satisfy my needs".
or "I don't need it, it's not good for me... therefore I don't want it!". OR use the scripture for the day to have God's strength!

I'm still working on doing these things in social settings, (good to recognize weakness so it can be worked on)
But, I have mastered looking at pastries, candies, deserts... etc and saying "they are poison to my body" AND it's TRUE!

There you have it... formula for success!

Salute! To YOUR health and wellness

For such a time as this

John 12:32 (King James Version)

32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

A call to prayer and to make a stand. We face a turbulent time in our nation.

Let's face it with a prayer attitude and outspoken words of Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

AMEN! and Salute!

Never give up

Let's try this again.

Starting July 1st I will attempt (no cross out that word : attempt) I WILL
make choices that become a constant lifestyle choice (habit!)

I believe the truth is I need to choose 3 habits for the next 21 days - Just THREE

After reviewing the last few times of "21 days to health and wellness" I found a weakness

"consistency" well, that's always been my weakness. Doing something the same way more than once (ha)

So, knowing my weakness is the .....

First Step to success-
The next step is making a commitment to "my choice"

Step two - be realistic in my goal: Choice ONLY three things

Step three - Use the right tools to accomplish my choices / create the environment for success

Step four - Motivation / Passion / Loving ME enough to "do it": the tool is my spiritual walk
my spiritual talk becoming the walk

Step five - Accountability towards these steps.

Hear goes:
Step One: I AM COMMITTED to Being "Healthy and Well". I am committed to being my best
Spiritually, Physically, Mentally. I am committed to Taking CARE OF ME!
Step Two: 1. Write down what I eat when I eat it! (accountability) . 200 calories each meal (three healthy meals) and each snack (2 snacks)
2. 30 Minutes every MORNING! No EXCUSES!!!
3. 15/15/15 This is my daily choice to Pray & Read the Word of God
This is my daily choice to Learn (read, Italian lessons or Piano)
This is my daily choice for activity (although for 21 days it's 30 minutes since My goal is weight loss )
Step Three: Tools: Wii, I-Phone music, Note's about the house/car.... Alarms to remind me. Keep a Daily Sheet of paper to record food (until I can transfer to Livestrong Web site I have chosen). That makes me think I'm going to wear a
waterproof bracelet to Remind me... focus, "taking care of me"
Step Four: Journalize is what I found keeps me focused and motivated -
Step Five: Journalize is what keeps me accountable. And the MIRROR doesn't hurt!

I have MY choices - THREE THINGS for 21 days! Three things to the road of Health and Wellness.

Salute!!

Getting Closer

It occurred to me recently when discussing "diets". It appears when someone is "on a diet" they speak passionately about their choice. No "open mind" ... closed to any suggestion that there may be flaws, or another diet may be a better choice.

Then the light clicked on ! Of course, you have to BUY into what your doing to be successful. You have to lock out any other ideas .... and run with it!
So, the target population to address are the one's that are OPEN ( mostly because they've failed at what they have tried)

In my endeavor to discover the "truth" about losing weight, I have become equally passionate about my choice.... Ummmm but in seeking a diet, I found something Bigger and Better and ...

So far:
We are creature that are ruled by habits
Habits are developed by a choices
Choices are made by our thoughts
thoughts are taking what we see, hear, feel and either accepting them or "deleting" them.

We are a product of OURSELVES! Think about that....

Stay tuned, more to follow!

Salute!
