Turn the page

"Turn the page it's a new day"

Song's that inspire me.....

How powerful our thinking is

We can direct our thoughts to ideas of defeat  or to great achievements

Each day we actually have a new fresh start on our attitude which is influenced, inspired, affect by our thoughts. Our thoughts become action and our actions become who we are

Excuses are the enemy.  It's so very sad when I hear a "bucket full of excuses" why someone lives in defeat.  Sorry to say, it actually becomes their comfort for their failure.

Stop with the pity party and excuses.

When we acknowledge have our creator who MADE US in HIS IMAGE.  When we acknowledge our creator placed the stars in the sky and magnificent oceans on the earth.  When we acknowledge all things were created by a God who references himself as OUR FATHER.  He gave us dominion over the earth.... and OUR CHOICES!  When we acknowledge our  God of the Heavens who is available and able and wants to encourage, uplift, support, comfort... meet ALL OUR NEEDS!

Then Why:
Why do we make excuses and gravel upon the earth moaning and crying about all our "stress" and "difficulties" and "illnesses.  Why do we only CONFESS  our limitations instead of CONFESSING  and seeking our strength to rise above it all, in HIM.

It's time we kick ourselves in the pants, get up, get going.... freakin acknowledge who we are in Christ and take it on!

Stop with the excuses and start with the reasons why we can not  and will not fail!

there  I said it

Now, wake up and accept responsibility to SPEAK POWER into your life.
SPEAKING the WORD OF GOD.  It's a powerful resource that brings light, healing, inspiration, energy, focus, determination..... joy, life, "VITA"!

So sad to think someone can be alive (physically)
but be dead (Spiritually and mentally)
Don't they call that a Zombie?

So, stop with the excuses - Start Honoring your Body, Mind and Spirit by taking contol of your Health and Wellness:

Choosing life giving foods:  Fresh colorful fruits and Vegetables, whole grains, clean proteins

Choosing to MOVE your body, stretch, walk, jog, lift weights, swim... ride a bike

Choosing to fill your mind with positive words, music, visual things
that are True, Lovely, honest of good report

Choosing to have a loving, grateful heart, a heart of thanksgiving, a humbling attitude that
we have a purpose to fulfill.

Slap yourself awake for heaven sakes

Psalm 42:5

5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
   Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him
   my Savior and my God.

Ciao
Have an amazing day writing today's story on a new page of your life

Back in the Garden

Seeking to be our own God
Listening to ....
believing we can;
Walk  in our own strength
Trust  ourselves

Fallen

Why do I fall?   Why do I war with myself?  Doing one thing while saying something else?

Well........ There you go

Whom do I serve?
Me or THEE?

I'll be humming today.....
therefore keeping my spirit tuned into what I want in my mind

"HE is all I need":   Including Approval from those around me
"I surrender all":     Including donuts!

I'll be moving  my body mind and spirit....today.....

Keeping the rhythm in my soul, body.... dancing to the "being joyful in HIM"
MOVE IT!   WALK IT!   just don't Talk it

It may be a war :  Flesh against Spirit......  I'm going to STOP fighting my battles in the Flesh but Fight it in the Spirit (because it's a SPIRITUAL Battle).

GO to the GARDEN today and Make the Choice that HE IS ALL I NEED

My Defining MOMENT!
Free in HIM
Released from the bondage of fear, disappointment, un-forgiveness, jealousy, misunderstandings, anger, ..... fear of failure

Now go eat some fruit, go poop and get going!

Step away from the Donut!

"Recently I had a wonderful moment hearing and singing a song I recall growing up in the Church.     I surrender all!

CeCe Winans: I Surrender All
(click on the link to hear the song)

All to Jesus I surrender

All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken
Take me, Jesus, take me now,
I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all
All to Jesus I surrender
Make me Savior wholly thine
May Thy Holy Spirit fill me
May I know Thy power divine
I surrender all

This reminded me that there is NOTHING I can't accomplish when
I Freely Give my All to the Lord
Honoring Him by Honoring me  ( body, mind and spirit)

That includes Donuts!  (cryptic message)

So, since want to loose a few more pounds (not yet at my target weight)  I will do a liquid fast today.

It's not about depriving myself of food,
it's about surrendering my "wants" my "desires"
for my HEALTH and WELLBEING

It's about "taking control" of me and saying NO to me

It puts ME in CONTROL of ME!

I desire:
To not be controlled purely by emotion (stress)
To not be controlled by my body (cravings)
To not have a "war" going on in side of me
example: I want this but I can't have it..... (ahhh such nonsense we put up with)

So today when I have hunger pangs or just "feel like eating something"  I will
1.  Stop
2. Take a deep cleansing breath to re-focus
3. Say to my self (or maybe out loud)
"I surrender all".... (referring to food, eating)
4.  Then I'll whisper a prayer for someone or something, re-channel the energy
      I'm  experiencing at that moment...
and asking God to meet a need or desire for me, someone else or for
a situation that needs God's touch.

That is what it's about.... Not starving to lose weight... Not just fasting to detox the
body....

Fasting" to Balance my Body, Mind and Spirit and to gain control over ME making the right choices.

FYI:   being the ideal weight does not necessary indicate you are healthy
but being over weight absolutely indicates you are not healthy

Who has the ANSWER? Hand raised up saying "me, me"

John 14:6

 6 Jesus answered,

“I am the way and the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 8:12

 12Then spake
Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

When we wake up in the morning more concerned with "feeding" our Spirit than feeding our face..... That's power!

When we choose to change lifestyle choices to reflect balance.... That's powerful!

When we choose to "continually" renew our mind

to be transformed and not conformed

 We're truly living in Victory.

As I was triaging a patient who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia
the other day, it was enlightening to me, once again what I was hearing.

No one "chooses" to be ill.  But the majority of illnesses are due to lifestyle Choices
About 47 million adults in the United States (almost 25 percent) have metabolic syndrome, and the number continues to grow. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/ms/ms_all.html

Stats show that 80% of illnesses seen in the Doctors offices are due to lifestyle choices.

Without getting into more stats, documentation and effort on my part (ha)... here is my point.

When I hear people talk about "  losing weight".... my response it Keep it "balanced"

FIRST:   Seek the answer in our instruction manual- The Bible!
Why and how did  your body become.... to put it direct "fat"
That's the first thing to do.   As in Nursing, we acknowledge the symptom - than
look to find the "cause" of the symptom.

          Being Overweight is a symptom,
PURE AND SIMPLE.

SECOND:  After it's acknowledged that being overweight is a symptom.
Take responsibility for the lifestyle choices you have made in the past and
                  choose to change those choices.

THIRD:  Make a goal and then Develop  the Plan
(all this is how we go about dealing with    an illness in a patient)

The success is in both your level of awareness of the problem and your determination is to take responsibility

So, getting back to the person dealing with fibromyalgia.  I not suggesting I have a miracle cure.  I am suggesting that when a person becomes balanced in their lives, they have a better chance of increasing the quality of life with this diagnosis or any other diagnosis.

The framework for my suggestion to any patient dealing with an illness
(mental or physical)

1.  Acknowledge how your are made and who made you, and why you were made, and what your purpose for living is....  FEED and EXERCISE your spiritual Man every morning!

2.  Acknowledge your body's needs for vitamins, proteins and minerals.  Fibers, fruits, vegetables and clean source of proteins,  (I choose as much a possible- ORGANIC)
Balance the choices of foods and the portions of what you eat.  Be responsible to know
what your eating, why your eating, when your eating, how your eating!

3.  Acknowledge your body's need for exercise and activities.  Not just pumping iron or doing aerobics.  Then mind body connection of activity!   FEED your body Fresh air, sunshine and activity.  Exercise that heart muscle with aerobic exercises.  Reduce the cholesterol level with  10,000 steps.  Increase your bone density with using weights.
Detox your body with expanding your lungs - breathing deep!

4. Acknowledge your body's need for healthy thinking, thoughts.  Take responsibility for what you FEED YOUR MIND.  Make healthy choices by what you choose to watch on TV, movies... what you choose to read, listen to.  What you choose to expose your mind to is the difference between a life full of hope, truth and light and one who lives in darkness, despair and disappointments.

I think I'll hang up my own "shingle".... the Nurse is IN.

Gotta Run

The Stairs of life

Some day's are just plain crazy and stressful.  Circumstances and Situations that we didn't ask for or create.

This thought came to me as I was talking a walk on a very "glorious and beautiful" morning.  As I came to an area of my walk that has about a gazillion steps up and back down.... I noticed that on my way down the steps I had to  concentration was watching my feet on the steps.  (Many Emergency room visits are because of falling down stairs).
Although I didn't want to hold on to the rail (Lord knows what disgusting germs are inhabiting the hand rail, another health risk) I had my hand ready to grab on. It suddenly dawned on me that   I was unable to enjoy the fantastic view in front of me unless I stopped to look up.

I then drew the analogy from walking down the Stairs.... (as I often do.... )

"Analogies prove nothing, that is true" wrote Sigmund Freud,
"but they can make one feel more at home.

On our journey through this life of ours, we at times are faced with "stairs"... aka challenges (a positive way to say stress).

Stairs challenges:

Our Body because they take an increased energy and strength.  Just walking up several fights of stairs causes our leg muscles to burn, and our heart has to pump  harder to pull in more oxygen to meet the demand of our muscles...  the increased need for the oxygen can sometimes our lungs to feel like they too like the muscles are burning... A lot of physical manifestations of our challenge.

Our Mind has to concentrate, although we may believe we're thinking about something else, listening to our ipod ... sub consciously our eye's and ears and touch are sending messages to our mind to keep us from falling.

Our Spirit.... dah!  again.... I go back to this concern... what's our spirit doing during this challenge?  We, as spirits are  always in a state of being, without consciously being aware of  this and what is  happening in us and around us. Unknowingly our Spirit is always "active".

The Stairs represent our challenges and our ability to handle the stairs is our condition, Physically, Mentally and Spiritually.

But more importantly in my thinking about this is the fact that the Stairs are a distraction.

We need to focus "the  stairs" when we have to use them.
(Are you always looking for the elevator? Sorry,  but the fact of life is sometimes you have to take the stairs)

We are sometimes hit from all sides with challenges and changes.  Illnesses, conflicts in relationships,  financial issues... whatever.  No escape from conflicts and challenges.

Walking "THE STAIRS of LIFE" can take us from enjoying the beauty around us.
They can be a difficult and painful time in our life.

BUT, as I said

I then STOPPED took a deep cleansing breath while walking down those stairs and  LOOKED UP and took in a brief moment to enjoy the sights and sounds and fragrances that surrounded me.  And for that brief moment, I   lost thought  and sensations of my burning muscles ... And  then had a chance to whisper in my Spirit.... words of gratitude, thoughts of Praise for my Creator... I became lost in that moment. I felt then refreshed to continue.
Knowing no matter what was happening AROUND ME...
I was able to get in touch with what we happening IN ME!

Physically
Mentally
Spiritually

Keeping my goal of Feeding and Exercising  and Balancing "ME"

You CAN NOT help others if your  ill, unbalanced, weary, unhappy, angry, resentful, unforgiving, judgemental, critical,lazy.....

When your Balanced,  healthy, energized, happy, satisfied, tolerant, forgiving, non-judgemental, positive, focused on goals....

YOU ARE HEALTHY and WELL to help others.
You can take on the Stairs of Life.... You can BALANCE!

Take care of YOU so you can take care of OTHERS and therefore Others will not be burdened with taking care of YOU because YOU don't take care of YOURSELF!
There... I said it (now I have to re-read what I said, cuz I kind of confused myself...)

Stop making excuses that You can't STOP on the Stairs of LIFE to take a deep breath... refocus and HONOR yourself by eating healthy, exercising and feeding your mind and Spirit healthy ideas and thoughts (the Bible is the "bread of life").

I can't turn back the hands of time, I can't live tomorrow today....
I can only capture the moment and seize the opportunity I am IN.

Now .....Stop, close your eye's and have a "little" talk with yourself.... (oh, and a little "Talk with Jesus" too)

Ciao
