Take a Vacation from my Problems!

It's just so Freaking hard sometimes 
           (please, mom... don't wash my mouth out with soap)


I have just got to remember to "Watch my mouth!" (what I'm saying)


This week I was Dealing with a frustrating (to say the least) situation.... 
                       I found myself saying


"it's just making me sick".....


Yikes all mighty.  
          That goes against everything I have been trying to accomplish this year 
(with my "re-inventing" myself.... such an "in"  thing to say... isn't it?)




WHY in the world would I say.... "it's just making me SICK?"  
                         NO.... stop that, please don't say that!

AFFIRMATIONS!
I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful...(repeat)


Just Temporarily disconnected




Say what I WANT  to B e l i e v e! 
(Don't say what I don't want to have happen!)

Here is the trick to it all 
(I call it a trick, but it's not really a trick, and I wouldn't want to trick you)

Suspend disbelief
You don't have to believe that your affirmation is true right now, but you have to believe in the possibility of getting what you want.

Keep it short, to the point and positive:
Say.... "I'm happy" rather than "I'm not upset."
If you think in the negative, you place your
emphasis on the lack rather than on the possibility.

Imagine it vividly:

There is a reason and wisdom in SPEAKING, Repeating and Thinking  words, thoughts and ideas that are Positive!  

We actually HEAR and Process (in our brain) what WE SAY!    
It's powerful!

An interesting thought:  Stressful Events are like  a  virus or bacteria  that attempts to enter our minds/thoughts and reek havoc on us and  can make us  mentally and physically sick (ill)

This then brings me to mention 
"Self Talk"
The Internal Dialog 
(That's right.... I talk to myself all the time... 
very common and very comfortable for me to do this..
go ahead... laugh, I'm laughing too)

When my patient tells me.... 

         "I ALWAYS get bronchitis when I get a cold"

           " I CAUGHT the Flu"  or "I'm GETTING sick"

           " I HAVE a migrane" 

                                     They are telling themselves.... 
                                                       "I accept this Illness"... 
                                                              "I am a victim"

Instead - Have Power over what is happening, by Saying :
         
      "I Will not let myself get bronchitis this time" 
        
      "I refuse to catch the flu"

       "I am FIGHTING! a migrane"

                             YOU become what you tell yourself... because YOU are listening to
                              you and YOU  will believe what you are telling yourself... 
                                            

It's so SAD but true, that we can be our own worst enemy!  

We can defeat ourselves by what WE tell ourselves or What we CHOOSE to believe.

Well,  that's it **************


So when I'm facing a frustrating situation, that I can't change ( like  a virus  or bacteria)....

 I must CHOOSE TO CHANGE my words.... to Positive affirmations
             therefore I am empowering myself to not be a victim but a victor

 Ok, Recap.....

I caught myself saying "it's just making me sick" 

 and I chose to  Turned it around to.....

"it's a challenge and I CAN handle and deal with it" 
           (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ...Philippians 4:13)

"It's going to work out well in the end"
         (All things work together for Good to those who love the Lord... Romans 8:28)

"When God closes a window.... He opens a door.... 
                     " I'll just start looking for the door so I can Get the heck out of here!"...... 

so on and so forth.....

  • Reminder:  Drink 8 (8oz) glasses of water every day
  • Eat  fresh organic colorful foods and foods full of Fiber!
  • Be Playful!  Jump, Run, Dance... MOVE IT!  30 minutes every day
  • Feed your Mind and Spirit  thoughts, books, music that will Lift and encourage you.
BALANCE YOURSELF!  It's hard to stumble when your on your knees (praying)

Get an Emotional Thermometer

 Our lives are filled with Patterns.  There actually is an order in what we do 
(doesn't matter if we can acknowledge this or not).

I say that because Science has evidence that there is NO such thing as confusion in the molecular world.  Even an Explosion has an order and Pattern to it.  All of creation is made up of matter.  (hey, here's a joke... "what's the matter with you?")  LOL

Therefore Everything on Earth and in the Heavens has 
Order, Reason and Patterns.
Tap into that Knowledge and use it.   
Develop a Lifestyle of Peace and Order.  

Do this by acknowledging  your Habits.  Discover what Healthy and Un- Healthy Habits you may have.

  Since NOTHING in this Universe can be destroyed!  

You heard it here.  

Nothing can be destroyed, removed as if it never existed  

CREATION is still alive and Well
   
What is Created can NEVER be destroyed


Nothing can ever, ever, ever, be destroyed - ONLY changed - Transformed.
(Cutting to the quick)  Love can not be destroyed in a relationship.  It can only be transformed/changed into a different emotion.

Maybe transformed into Apathetic, Anger, Distrust.... what ever the opposite of Love is.

 If, when a relationship is ended.... if there is truly the thoughts  
"I don't care... I don't give it a second thought that they are gone"  
THAN I believe   you have to question if True Love ever existed in that relationship 
(if those emotions are really true.... 
This will be evident by what those emotions are producing)

WE ARE A PRODUCT of our EMOTIONAL CHOICES

If there is truly the thoughts "I wish them the best.... Hope they are well"
THEN I believe that Love existed and it was True Love... and it lives on.


Again, just as a Person is created by the actions of two people  (ahhh, a baby)

Life can never be destroyed!  It will last for eternity... 
either in Light or in Darkness.(nothing in between)
LIFE will LAST ETERNITY - YOU will exist for ETERNITY.  

Same holds true for Love
When Love is created between two people ... it can NOT be destroyed.  It CAN and WILL be transformed into a different energy.  The Energy it's transformed into is YOUR choice.

Therefore, if a relationship has ended....  the Love in your heart is transformed into another emotion - Hopefully you have chosen through the choice of  Forgiveness, Mercy, Grace, Understanding.... to transform that emotion into Caring, hope, Faith, ..... wishing the Best for the other person.





Even Christ on the Cross CHOSE to say 
"Forgive them, for they know not what they do"
(I don't recall the bible saying 
people were kneeling beneath the cross 
ASKING for Forgiveness)

The GREATEST GIFT in ALL of CREATION
Unconditional Forgiveness 
synonymous with
Unconditional Love

Love is Forgiveness through Sacrifice - the Sacrifice of Self for the Good of Others

What is my Habit and Pattern in Relationships?  


To see others through the 
          Eye's of Christ 
                  and with the 
          Heart of Christ  
                             Hummmmmmm (hope so)




What the HECK is this blog all about.... don't know.... don't care.... Just felt like saying all that!  My blog, My thoughts, My ending it.

My blog is my devotional - 

This morning the sun rose and so did my spirit ... 
but ONLY when 
I began to FEED MY SPIRIT.  

It seems that January 1st of this year ushered in this desire and focus.  In Balancing LIFE I have become acutely aware of the Malnutrition of my Spirit over the years.  OH, ya... Sure... church.... prayer... reading the bible... BUT No real commitment on a daily basis.  It was just "kind of" attempted when I thought about it or was in a crisis.

Isn't that the same in our desire for Health (BODY)... When we start to feel sick or have an injury... THEN we pay attention to our "Nutrition".

HUmmmmm Exercise... Not sure if there is something that triggers us thinking about the "Nutrition" of our Muscles and Joints?  Maybe.... no.... I don't think there is.  Too bad.  Muscles and Joints need EXERCISE to bring oxygen (nutrition) for our muscles and  Stretches for our Joints!  

Guess, it's when we find ourselves unable to go from a squat to a standing position without assistance we think about... it... but all we say it...

"oh, I am getting old".  
Instead of the truth... 
"oh, I AM OUT OF SHAPE"!  

That brings me to the Mind.  Nutrition for the Mind.... what is the reminder that it's not getting the nutrition it needs.  Yes,  our mind need to be exercised and receive nutritious foods too.  Maybe the sign of "mental fatigue"... just plain weary of life, stress, people...
Unclear thinking.... feeling like in a fog, forgetful...

Maybe " Ruminating" about something disturbing that has happened.

Nutrition for the 
BODY, MIND and SPIRIT.  

Balance it!   

Balance your Body -  What you Eat, When you Eat, Why you Eat, Where you Eat
                                How you Eat
                                Eat portions no bigger than your fist!
                                Eat a variety at each meal of Fresh Organic Colorful Foods
                                Balance Fibers, Fluids, Fats in your Diet

Balance your Body - Exercise and Stretch Daily (just like your body needs food every
                               day... so does your body need to stretch and move!)

Balance your Mind - Re-write past experience.  Use a Colorful Pen of Forgiveness and
                               understanding when thinking of events of the past
                               Check all your  ideas and Thoughts against the following
                               Is it "true... pure... honest.... kind... thoughtful.... loving?"
                               See it or the person through the "eye's of Christ".

Balance your Spirit - Feeding it the Word of God... Memorize a scripture each day or
                               week! Feed upon music that uplifts and re-focuses your body and
                               thoughts.
                               "Give" thanks and Praise to God  equal to "Asking"
                                God for things and equal to "Receiving"  what God has for you.

Too much of anything can be a problem
Too little of anything can be a problem
              BALANCE !

NO giving UP!

When seeking to "get healthy" with a change of Lifestyle (Exercise and Healthy Foods)
It's easy to become discourage and say


AHHHH..... Forgetaboutit!

But, think about someone you admire who has achieved something great.
It's quite difficult to believe  that they NEVER had a moment of failure or discouragement
or set backs.... 
BUT 
THEY obviously ..... Did not  GIVE UP

SO.....

Diet Drinks and Metabolic Syndrome
A recent study of more than ninety-five hundred people found those who consumed at least one can of diet soda a day had a 34% higher change of developing metabolic syndrome than those who did not drink diet sodas.

A Can of Soda = 10 tsp of Sugar




The health risks of drinking sodas are obvious.
A recent study published in the journal Circulation suggest that drinking one or more sodas a day including diet sodas is associated with an increase of other risk factors for heart disease.  Among those evaluated, those who drank a soda or more each day increased their risk of becoming obese by 31 5, had a 30 % higher chance of increasing their waistline, a  25% increase in the likelihood of developing elevated blood sugar levels, and were 32 percent more prone to developing lower HDL (good) cholesterols levels. The interesting point was that it made no difference whether the soda was diet or regular soda.

Juice:  even though juices such as orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, and other fruit juices have significantly more vitamins, minerals antioxidants, and nutrients than sodas, they also contain a lot of calories from sugar (especially fructose). In fact juice has approximately the same number of calories and sugar content as a soda. 


The main problem is that the key ingredient for weight loss and curbing the appetite - fiber- has been extracted from those juices.


So.... go eat an orange or apple or handful of Grapes!  Get the FIBER! The fiber in the pulp will lower the glycemic index of the juice and help to decrease your appetite. 


Smoothies! another example: (be careful!)
A small (16 oz) order of a Strawberry Banana Smoothie from a Jamba Juice packs 360 Calories and 
69 Grams of SUGAR! 
A 20 oz Immune Builder smoothie has about 384 Calories and 80 Grams of SUGAR!


Don't depend on your thirst level to determine if you need liquids. 


During dehydration your thirst mechanism actually shuts off as your hunger increases.




WATER  intake IS ESSENTIAL  for weight loss because water helps fuel the physiological processes involved in metabolism. 



Symptoms of mild dehydration include chronic pains in joints and muscles, lower back pain, headaches and constipation. 
A strong odor to your urine, along with a yellow or amber color, indicates that you may not be getting enough water. 
Thirst is an obvious sign of dehydration, and in fact, you need water long before you feel thirsty.



We lose about 2 1/2 quarts a day just through breathing, perspiration, urination and stool.   Since we cannot store water in our bodies as a camel can, that water must be replaced throughout the day.  Most people need at least 2 quarts (8 cups) of water a day. 


 What I Tell my Patients: 
A more accurate figure can be calculated by taking our weight in pounds and dividing it by 2  That is the amount of water in ounces you need on a daily basis for optimal health.  Yes... adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables (5-7 servings a day) contributes  to 1/3 of your daily water needs.  


         GET IN THE HABIT of DRINKING WATER!   
Water  =  "Detoxes"  the Body and increases metabolism!


NO tap water!   which typically contains chlorine, fluoride, and many other chemicals. 
 Please choose FILTERED OR SPRING WATER

Research on teas shows that simply drinking two cups a day decreases the risk of developing ovarian cancer by nearly 50%.

Green tea - Helps to burn fat and increase the metabolic rate!  
Green tea contains a small amount of caffeine but has a specific catechin phytonutrient called EGCG that stimulates the production of norepinephrine, which then boosts the metabolic rate(Aim for 3-4 cups a day for assistance with weight loss).

Green tea also contains an amino acid, L-theanine, that calms and relaxes the body and helps control stress without sedating you.   A person typically feels its effect within only a half hour and feels relaxed for approximately two hours.  

In fact one study found that drinking 
five cups of green tea a day 
was as effective as taking an antidepressant.
