Who's on your Yellow Brick Road?

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  Weight, health, family, Money, Work....

We have to wake up every morning

BELIEVING we serve the God of the Universe!

Knowing HE is our Hope! Knowing HE gives us Strength to face the Day.

When we struggle with ... diet, exercise and or changing a lifestyle habit..... THINK BALANCE?

The  origin of the struggle (I believe)  may be :

Physical
or

Mental

or
Spiritual

I know, I know... I keep talking in my blogs about "spiritual" stuff

But, do you acknowledge we are not only flesh and blood but a SPIRIT?

Balance!  is about providing nutrition, exercise and attention to ALL THREE area's of our life
They are intricate and beautifully connected

When your struggling (As I do).... tap into all three things

How am I doing Physically (nutrition)
How am I doing Mentally (thoughts)
How am I doing Spiritually (my walk)

gotta run......

Ciao!
Cheer up!  It could be better (LOL)

Louis Vuitton thoughts - where do you shop for your thoughts?

"Good Morning God, how about joining me for a walk"

Make an appointment with God, and don't be late
Then really PAY ATTENTION to talking with him... keep focused

Previous two blogs say the same thing... (Motivation)

REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT...
Until it SINKS IN!

Sometimes a dish needs a soaking with hot soapy water to soften the food that has sat too long and therefore very difficult to remove

Sometimes your BRAIN needs some soaking with  Repetitive thoughts to help remove junk that is difficult to remove

SO..... REPEAT and RE-READ the same thing... over and over and over again
until it S I N K S in !

Reasons We Lose Motivation

There are 3 primary reasons we lose motivation.
  1. Lack of confidence – If you don’t believe you can succeed, what’s the point in trying?
  2. Lack of focus – If you don’t know what you want, do you really want anything?
  3. Lack of direction – If you don’t know what to do, how can you be motivated to do it?

How to Boost Confidence

The first motivation killer is a lack of confidence. When this happens to me, it’s usually because I’m focusing entirely on what I want and neglecting what I already have. When you only think about what you want, your mind creates explanations for why you aren’t getting it. This creates negative thoughts. Past failures, bad breaks, and personal weaknesses dominate your mind. You become jealous of your competitors and start making excuses for why you can’t succeed. In this state, you tend to make a bad impression, assume the worst about others, and lose self confidence.
The way to get out of this thought pattern is to focus on gratitude. Set aside time to focus on everything positive in your life. Make a mental list of your strengths, past successes, and current advantages. We tend to take our strengths for granted and dwell on our failures. By making an effort to feel grateful, you’ll realize how competent and successful you already are. This will rejuvenate your confidence and get you motivated to build on your current success.
It might sound strange that repeating things you already know can improve your mindset, but it’s amazingly effective. The mind distorts reality to confirm what it wants to believe. The more negatively you think, the more examples your mind will discover to confirm that belief.
When you truly believe that you deserve success, your mind will generate ways to achieve it. The best way to bring success to yourself is to genuinely desire to create value for the rest of the world.

We have a Father who is the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS
He is the CREATOR and RULER of the Universe....
You are a "DESIGNER" child of GOD.... uniquely made and one of a kind
 Believe it, Act like it....
                                         WALK like it!

Non Stop flights are not Healthy - Faster but Not Healthy

Why do we sometimes fail at our attempts to eat "right" and "exercise" and "get it together"?
As I read the following article, I thought about the 3 primary reasons...
and I know that I am NOT CONSISTENT at exercise!
( my Current Struggle)

Lack of focus and direction are on the top of my list when I look at Why I fail every day.
I have Hunger pangs that remind me to eat
I have Guilt pangs that remind me to exercise
I live in Guilt (Italian Mother)... so what's new?
BUT I WANT to EXERCISE! I really do....
I KNOW the benefit of Exercise. Not just the outward appearance of a body that exercises,
but I know the Mental Benefit of Exercise
"I ALWAYS feel fabulous after I've exercised"...
and I know the Internal Benefit of Exercise..
Stronger muscles, Joints are more flexible....
Increases my energy and
mental strength (gheeze I need that)
So....
WRITE it down... REPEAT.... Say it.... Believe it.... Feel it.... Do it!
I WILL exercise for 30 minutes today because IT FEELS GOOD. (Yes, keep saying it !!!!)
Then, next step is working on Time Management. If I carve out a time each day for 30 minutes, then I'll have a PLAN!
My Plan gives me direction (the "plan" is a "Plane" in this little story)
Like purchasing a Plane ticket for a destination. But, this destination has no Non Stop Flights.
You must take the connecting Flights to get to your destination.... (come on follow the thought... Yes, It's a little weird)

So every day when I wake up, I fall to my knees
(a recent 21 day habit I have been working on )
and I purchase a Ticket from the LORD.
I will have connecting flights on the way to my Destination (lay over of 30-45 minutes) several times before I arrive at my destination.
Oh, you ask what is the Destination?

Land of Health and Wellness !
Here is what my ticket looks like:

  • Wake up and Fall to Knees at the side of the bed and Purchase a Ticket from God !
Here are the Connecting Flights you must take to arrive at your Destination:
  • Arrive at Exercise Terminal (30-45 minutes to fuel Body with Heart Pumping Oxygen)
  • Arrive Breakfast Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200--300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal ( 10 minute and a quick 200 calorie re-fuel)
  • Arrive at Lunch Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200-300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal ( 10 minute and a quick 200 calorie re-fuel)
  • Arrive at Dinner Terminal (30 minutes to re-fuel with Nutrients/Minerals/Vitamins 200-300 Calorie)
  • Arrive at Exercise Terminal ( 15-30 Stretch, Refresh Mind - Reading? Meditation)
  • Arrive at Snack Terminal (15 minutes to re-fuel! 200 calories High Fiber Snack)
  • Arrive at Destination A Place of Health and Wellness

While On the Trip be sure to ask for LOTS OF WATER to stay Hydrated!!!
(this really is my "plan" to stay on a 1200-1500 calorie Diet - I have a few more pounds to go to be at the optimal BMI)

Kind of a funny way to say: Time Management of Eating and Exercising.

But, an interesting a quirky, weird way to think about PLANNING my day.

(think I'll need some Dramamine)

I've got to Stop trying to make my trip a Non-Stop

THAT's just not Healthy !

Fat Belly Diet or Here we go again

I do embrace the  Mediterranean type of "Diet"
Or as I would RATHER Style of Eating (Lifestyle choice)
  mediterranean-diet-and-heart-disease LINK! click here

BUT  for gosh sakes.... EXERCISE TOO!!!!

Now, here is something to ponder:

From the Article (Fat Belly Diet)....

The Sassy Water Recipe

You've probably heard that you need about eight glasses of water a day for adequate hydration. Drinking water and even eating "watery" foods like melon, greens, and other fruits and vegetables has enormous health benefits, including warding off fatigue. But perhaps the most important "belly" benefit of proper hydration is how it helps maintain your body's proper fluid balance and guards against water retention. It also helps prevent constipation, which can cause bloating.

Eight glasses of water is just a guideline; everyone's fluid needs vary according to activity level and body. But eight is a good starting point. All fluids (and water-packed foods) count toward your overall fluid intake, but bear in mind that not all of these fluids are permitted on the Flat Belly Diet'Four-Day Anti-Bloat Jumpstart.

During the Jumpstart, you're required to drink one full recipe of Sassy Water. We call it Sassy Water, in honor of its creator Prevention nutrition director Cynthia Sass, and because it's a heck of a lot perkier than plain old water. But the ingredients aren't just for flavor: The ginger also helps calm and soothe your GI tract. Even more important: The simple act of making this Sassy Water every day will serve as a reminder during the 4-Day Jumpstart that life is a little bit different, that things are going to change. It will help you focus on the task ahead: Getting a flatter belly once and for all.

Sassy Water

2 liters water (about 8 ½ cups)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
12 small spearmint leaves.

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and let flavors blend overnight.

Drink the entire pitcher by the end of each day.

I think I'll try this!   Sounds refreshing!

Love how they mention that STARTING a New thing (drinking Sassy Water)  every day can serve as a reminder and boost to your efforts of "Change".  Change how we eat, how we see food, how we choose to "get healthy".

Other Questions and Thoughts to ponder:
You can go day's (weeks, months) without Exercise - True?

Can you go day's (weeks, months) without Food?

How about going day's (weeks, months... years) without Praying?

Hummmm, and we wonder why we struggle

Ciao! To your Health and Wellness
